Plantation shutters

Plantation shutters are a modern window covering, providing privacy, sun protection and style to your home.

They are fitted in your window recess within a 4-sided frame, like a picture frame.

Adjustable louvre blades fit within the hinged shutters so that you can tilt them and adjust the amount of light or privacy in your room.

Designs:

There are several different designs to choose from, so you can cover the Full Height of your window, divide the shutters in half, like a stable door for a Tier on Tier design or add vertical dividing rails (Tposts design) to allow more flexibility in how you open the louvres blades.

Louvres sizes:

There are two louvre sizes available, 64mm and 89mm with two different methods of controlling the louvres, with a centre control rod or hidden control rod. These options affect the look and amount of light coming into your room.

The advanced louvre blade design allows our louvres to be fully opened or closed to block out the light in either the upward or downward position, providing one of the tightest slat closures available in a plantation shutter, making these a great addition to bedrooms.

We have a range of DIY video guides on these features to help you decide on which louvre size or control rod is best for you.

Installation:

The shutter frames that fit inside your window recess can be screwed onto the window frame, or sideways into your wall. The frames can also be extended (using frame extensions) to ensure the louvre blades miss any protruding window handles.

It’s important to have adjustment when installing shutters, so our adjustable dura catches ensure a tight fitting, easy alignment and opening of the shutters.

What are they made from:

Our white plantation shutters are made from tough modern Polyresin 3, so these Vinyl shutters are extremely low maintenance and durable, they are mould and bacteria resistant, fire retardant and UV stabilised. This advanced style of shutter is rapidly replacing the traditional wooden shutter. They are extremely easy to care for and will look stunning on your windows by reflecting plenty of light into your room; creating the feeling of more space and style with the privacy you need.

Delivery time:

Made in the UK, you no longer have to wait 2 months for imported shutters, with our DIY video guides, automated checking and ordering process, delivery times are only 2 weeks for a fully custom made shutter.
